IU McKinney Student Christopher Smith Spending Summer as NAACP/Kellogg's Law Fellow
07/08/2014
Christopher Smith, a 3L at IU McKinney, is spending his summer as a fellow with the NAACP/Kellogg’s Law Fellow Program. He and the other students are working from the NAACP headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland, where they take part in legal research and advocacy projects.
Smith has been working on voting rights’ issues, real estate disputes, NAACP entertainment contracts, and juvenile justice initiatives, among other matters. In the run-up to the group’s national convention, slated for July 19-23, he has been working to coordinate a CLE presentation titled “Stand Your Ground,” where the lawyers involved in the Trayvon Martin case will present and answer questions.
“I’m having an amazing summer,” Smith said, “learning a lot, and meeting tons of people!”
