SJD Candidate Mohamed Abdelaal Has Article on Egypt's Protest Law Published

An article written by IU McKinney S.J.D. candidate Mohamed Abdelaal has been accepted for publication in China Law Review (Vol. 11, No. 9). Titled, "Egypt's Public Protest Law 2013: A Boost to Freedom or a Further Restriction?" the paper examines the law which has been criticized by human rights groups and political activists who say it restricts freedom of speech and could be a means to introduce a new authoritarian-style military rule.
Abdelaal is an assistant professor of constitutional and administrative law at the Alexandria University Faculty of Law in Alexandria, Egypt.
