Professor Silverman to Serve as Acting Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health

The IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health announced on August 22 that Professor Ross Silverman will become Acting Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Management at the school starting in October.
Professor Silverman also has a secondary faculty appointment in the Hall Center for Law and Health at IU McKinney School of Law. Nicolas P. Terry, Hall Render Professor of Law at IU McKinney and co-director of the Hall Center, said of the announcement, “Ross has already had a major impact on cross-disciplinary teaching and research at IU. This is both a fitting tribute to his work and a signal as to the future of health law and policy. “
Before joining the Fairbanks School in 2013 as a professor of health policy, he served as professor and chair of the Department of Medical Humanities and Professor of Psychiatry at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as well as Professor of Medical Jurisprudence at the Southern Illinois University School of Law. He graduated with his B.A. in history from Indiana University and his J.D. and M.P.H. Degrees from Boston University.
