IU McKinney Evening Students Form Union
09/02/2014
IU McKinney’s evening students have launched The Evening Student Union (TESU) in an effort to support programming, networking, and social opportunities at times that are convenient for night students. All IU McKinney students are welcome. There are no dues or membership costs.
Board members for the new group are Bryce Pruitt, president; Tarah Baldwin, vice president; Rachel Pendley, secretary; and Ne’Cole Whyde, treasurer.
“Many night students work full-time jobs and must balance that responsibility with families and classwork while attending classes,” Baldwin said. “By creating a one-stop shop for information, we are making it easier for evening students to be involved in all aspects of law school.”
TESU’s first social event, planned for late September, will be a bonfire at a fellow evening student’s farm. The group also plans a networking event during the fall semester. TESU has a Facebook page to keep members and other IU McKinney students updated on what they’re doing. Board members plan to work with other IU McKinney student organizations to urge them to have a couple of their meetings at night so that evening students can take part, Baldwin said.
