IU McKinney Professor Named to European Law Institute

Professor Shawn Boyne has been invited to be a fellow with the European Law Institute (ELI). The institute's fellows are those who are currently actively in engaged in European legal development. Professor Boyne’s research focuses on German criminal procedure. She is a former prosecuting attorney and practiced for several years as a defense attorney before pursuing her career in academia. Professor Boyne is one of the founding members of the Comparative Law Professors blog. Her latest book, The German Prosecution Service: Guardians of the Law?, was published in 2013 by Springer Publishing.
Modeled on the American Law Institute, ELI is a nonprofit organization with a mission of better law-making in Europe and the enhancement of European legal integration. Founded in 2011, it seeks to initiate, conduct and facilitate research, to make recommendations, and to provide practical guidance in the field of European legal development.
