Law Review Blog First of Its Kind in Indiana
09/17/2014
The staff of the Indiana Law Review (ILR) has launched the first blog of its kind in the state as a means to make the review more accessible to everyday practitioners and IU McKinney alumni. The effort, launched in June 2014, aims to make it easier to connect with ILR for anyone who would like to keep up with the scholarship that can be found in a traditional law review but doesn’t have the time to read traditional print editions.
“Like many publications around the world, written legal discourse is moving online, so we established an internet presence to maintain the Indiana Law Review's position at the forefront of legal scholarship,” said ILR editor-in-chief Reid Dodge and associate editor and blog editing committee chair Chris Mueller. “One of our main goals is to provide a timely and accessible resource to the legal community, especially practitioners, in a format that does not require a significant time investment to read, while encouraging discussion of emerging legal issues.”
The review has attracted the attention of Indianapolis-area practitioners, one of whom submitted an unsolicited post in late August, and IU McKinney Dean Andy Klein, who contributed a post that was published September 11.
ILR editors started the blog with an eye toward the day when the review will be paperless. The goal is for new posts to be published weekly, and to provide a forum where ILR members can network with practitioners.
