IU McKinney Student Wins Scholarship from IBA Government Practice Section
10/02/2014
Carrie Brennan, an IU McKinney 3L, has been awarded a scholarship from the Government Practice Section of the Indianapolis Bar Association.
As attorneys who represent government agencies, or who assist clients in matters involving government agencies, the members of the Government Practice Section award the $1,000 scholarship to a second- or third-year law student with a strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in government practice. It’s the third year for the award.
“It was heartening for those of us who reviewed the applications to know that successful, motivated, and compassionate law students are interested in careers in government practice,” said Sarah Burkman, ’98, senior staff attorney at the Indiana Legislative Services Agency and at-large member of the section’s leadership team.
