John Ryan, '72, Named President of Society of St. Vincent de Paul

John Ryan has been installed as president of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. A 1972 alumnus of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Ryan is well acquainted with leadership roles in Indianapolis.
A member of the St. Elizabeth/Coleman Adoption Services, Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Serra Club, and the school commission of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Ryan also has volunteered with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, and recently served as interim executive director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee.
Ryan also served as Marion County prosecutor, corporation counsel and deputy mayor for the city of Indianapolis in Bill Hudnut’s administration and was the director for the department of child services under Indiana governors Mitch Daniels and Mike Pence, ’86. In addition, Ryan was a partner in the law firm of Ice Miller as well as a vice president at American United Life.
