Staton Moot Court Competition Will Host Federal Judges For Final Round
10/28/2014
The final round of the Robert H. Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition will feature Judge John Tinder and Judge Michael Kanne of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The championship round will be held November 3 in the Indiana Supreme Court Courtroom.
“We are very honored to have Judge Tinder and Judge Kanne on the final judge panel for the Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition. Many practicing appellate attorneys don't ever get a learning opportunity like this,” said Kaitlin T. Coons, assistant chief justice for the Staton Intramural Moot Court Competition. “We are extremely fortunate to be able to provide student advocates with such a worthwhile experience.”
The competition is named in honor of alumnus and former Indiana Court of Appeals Judge Robert H. Staton, ’55. Students who score in the top 25 percent of all competitors are named to the Order of the Barristers, and are eligible to represent IU McKinney in national and international moot court competitions.
