Judge David Cook, '77, Named Director of State Alcohol and Tobacco Commission

Marion Superior Judge David Cook, ’77, has been named director of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. Governor Mike Pence, ’86, made the announcement December 3.
Cook currently presides in Marion Superior Court 7 in the Criminal Division. It’s a post he’s held since being appointed to the bench by the Indiana Supreme Court in February 2014. His term expires January 1, 2015, which is when he will take over his new duties.
Prior to serving on the bench, Cook was the Chief Public Defender in Marion County, a master commissioner in Marion Circuit Court, and served in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. He also has experience in private practice at various law firms in Indianapolis. Cook teaches trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at IU McKinney.
