Inaugural International Intellectual Property Academic Conference Held in Shanghai

Professors Xuan-Thao Nguyen and Emily Michiko Morris presented during the inaugural International Intellectual Property Conference. The event was co-organized by the Indiana University McKinney School of Law Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation, and the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics School of Law. The conference was held in Shanghai on December 15 and 16, 2014:
Both professors presented during the event. Professor Morris had the topic “Innovation and Patentability.” Professor Nguyen spoke on “Copyright and Obsolescence: In Search of the Next Great Copyright Act”
IU McKinney’s IP Center will host the 2nd International Intellectual Property Conference in the first week of October 2015. More details will be featured on the IU McKinney website as they become available.
Professor Nguyen joined the IU McKinney faculty in Summer 2014. She is the Gerald L. Bepko Chair in Law and the director of the IU McKinney IP Center. She is an internationally recognized legal scholar, known for her expertise in the intersections of intellectual property, secured transactions, bankruptcy, licensing, and taxation.
Professor Morris is an associate professor of law at IU McKinney. She teaches patent law, copyright law, and intellectual property law. Her research and teaching interests include patent law, health law and bioethics, Japanese law, and law and economic analysis.
