Professor Nguyen Notes Recent Publications, Presentations

Professor Xuan-Thao Nguyen spent a busy late Fall semester finalizing publications and making presentations at universities in the United States as well as Vietnam and China.
She published her treatise, Intellectual Property Taxation (2d Ed.)(with Jeff Maine).
Professor Nguyen conducted numerous workshops and roundtable discussions at the World Bank/IFC in Vietnam in November and December. She also co-organized the International Intellectual Property Academic Conference in Shanghai with the Shanghai University of Finance & Economics School of Law.
Her recent presentations included:
- “A Closer Look at History for Inspiration in Intellectual Property Financing,” Southwest University of Political Science & Law, Chongqing, China, December 19.
- “Copyrights and Obsolescence: In Search for the Next Great Copyright Act?” International Intellectual Property Academic Law Conference, Shanghai University of Finance & Economics School of Law, December 15-16.
- “Intellectual Property Financing”, a full-day workshop, World Bank/IFC in Hanoi and HCMC, Vietnam, December 4.
- “SME and Movable Financing Roundtables with the Banking Sector,” World Bank/IFC in Hanoi and HCMC, Vietnam, November 29 and December 2-3.
- “Shareholders’ Rights in the Context of Secured Transactions,” VNU University of Economics & Law, December 1.
- “Secured Transactions, Insolvency and Bankruptcy,” World Bank/IFC Vietnam, November 28. Here in addition to her presentation, she led a roundtable discussion for law professors and law drafting groups on bankruptcy law.
- “Intellectual Property Due Diligence and Valuation for Financing,” World Bank/IFC Vietnam, November 27.
- “The New Chinese Trademark Law,” University of Washington School of Law, November 3.
