Lori Torres, ’86, has been named the new Chief Legal Counsel and Deputy Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Torres is not new to government service, having served as Commissioner of Labor in former Governor Mitch Daniels administration. She served as of counsel at Indianapolis-based law firm Ice Miller in between government posts.

“Having been in private practice for 20 years before serving the Daniels Administration,” Torres said, “it’s been an honor and privilege to serve yet another governor as general counsel for one of the state’s largest and busiest agencies.  I know I am making a contribution and serving Hoosiers every day.”
