Melissa Proffitt Reese, '85, Named Office Managing Partner at Ice Miller in Indianapolis

Melissa Proffitt Reese, ‘85, has been named office managing partner of law firm Ice Miller’s Indianapolis office. She is a partner and a former managing partner of the firm.
Reese chairs the firm’s agribusiness group, which she founded. Her work in this area involves representation of numerous agriculture-related clients with regard to all legal needs. She is involved in economic development initiatives and coordinates with state and federal agencies focused on agriculture and energy initiatives. Reese also co-chairs the energy group, another group she founded. In her work with the energy group, she has represented energy, utility and pipeline companies. She also co-chairs the employee benefits group, where she counsels regional and international clients, advising on complex employee benefit matters, including the intricacies of health care reform.
Reese also is active in the community. She is involved in Republican politics from the local to the national level. She speaks frequently for a variety of professional organizations and has been recognized by both professional and community organizations, and by a number of business journals, as an outstanding leader and attorney. Reese currently serves on 13 local, state and national boards devoting her time to support economic development, diversity, public safety, women's issues, and other initiatives of importance to the community.
