LLM Alumna Shares Expertise on Azerbaijani Labor Law

LL.M. alumna Ummi Jalilova recently published her article titled “Recent Developments in Azerbaijani Labour Law” at Expert Guide: Discrimination Law and Equality, published by corporatelivewire, an online journal.
Jalilova obtained her Master of Laws degree in the American Law for Foreign Lawyers track at IU McKinney in 2011, with a concentration on business and corporate law. As a student, she served as the president of the Master of Laws Association.
Jalilova currently works as a senior lawyer at the Baku office of the Grata law firm. Aside from labor law, Jalilova also specializes in corporate law, commercial law, contract law, international law, and international arbitration. Since 2012, she has been teaching the course on Essential Concepts of Business for Lawyers as an adjunct faculty of Baku State University in Azerbaijan during fall semesters.
From 2004-2010, Jalilova worked as an inspector then senior inspector of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. She coordinated several European Union programs, such as Twinning, TAIEX, and SIGMA. Jalilova received a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and an LL.M. in Civil and Commercial Law, in 2004 and 2007 respectively, from Baku State University.
