02/11/2015
A team of students from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law competed in the 24th annual Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition Midwest regional in Chicago on February 7, placing third out of 19 law schools.
The team was made up of advocates (in the photo in front of the federal courthouse in Chicago, from left) Joshua Lowry, Andy Romey, and Tricia Hall. (Not pictured is coach David Singleton.) Faculty advisors for the team were Professor Gerard Magliocca, and Adjunct Professor Clifford Browning.
The Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition introduces law students to issues arising in U.S. trademark and unfair competition law. Regional competitions take place in early February, with the top two teams from each regional moving on to compete in the finals in Washington, D.C., in March.
“The advocates performed extremely well under intense questioning by the judges and wrote a fantastic brief,” said Singleton. Singleton, Lowry and and Romey are 3Ls who will graduate in May. Hall is a 2L.
