Bill Stephan, ’84, is IU’s vice president for engagement and is a member of the law school's Board of Visitors. Stephan oversees all of the university's functions linked to economic development, technology commercialization, and marketing.
The goal for the 16-person committee is to have a new chancellor identified by the time Bantz steps down in Summer 2015.
The new chancellor will succeed Charles R. Bantz, who is stepping down from the position August 15 to rejoin the faculty. He has been the IUPUI chancellor and IU vice president since 2003.
The IU executive vice president and IUPUI chancellor is the chief executive officer of the campus in Indianapolis. The chancellor oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities and ensures the quality of the faculty and student body by providing leadership in matters related to academic programs and policies, promotion and tenure, faculty recognition, research, university outreach, and student recruitment and retention.
