IU McKinney Students Gain Work Experience Externing for Hancock County Prosecutor's Office
03/06/2015
The experience of two IU McKinney students who are working as externs for the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office, has been written about in the March 3 edition of the Greenfield Daily Reporter.
Shelby Thornburg, a 2L, and Luke Purdy, a 3L, are working for Prosecutor Brent Eaton, ’00, who took on the prosecutor’s job in January 2015. In the newspaper story, Thornburg is shown talking with Hancock County Judge Dan Marshall, ’86. The story notes that Eaton thought to save the county the $20,000 budgeted for hiring part-time legal help in his office by utilizing law student externs to do the work, helping the county and the students at the same time.
