Mohamed Arafa, S.J.D. '13, Upcoming Teaching, Speaking Engagements

Mohamed Arafa, S.J.D. ’13, will speak at Washington University Law in St. Louis as part of a panel discussion titled “Current Developments in the Middle East.” He will discuss the Arab Spring/Winter, Egypt under President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and fighting terrorism, among other topics. The event is slated for March 16.
Arafa has been selected to act as a managing editor of the Arab Law Quarterly Journal in London. He will begin his new role in May. The journal, published by Brill in the United Kingdom, covers all aspects of Arab laws, both Shari´a and secular, and provides articles on the laws and legal developments throughout the 20 countries of the Arab world.
Arafa is an assistant professor of criminal law and criminal justice at Alexandria University Faculty of Law in Egypt. He is teaching Islamic law as an adjunct professor at IU McKinney during the Spring 2015 semester.
