John Pistole, '81, Discusses New Job at Anderson University with Hometown Newspaper
03/25/2015
John Pistole, ’81, discussed his new position as president of Anderson University with his hometown newspaper, the Anderson Herald-Bulletin, in a story published March 24.
Only three weeks into the job at the time of the interview, Pistole quipped, “I worked two weeks and then spring break. What’s not to like?” when asked how he was enjoying the new role so far.
Pistole began a career with the FBI in 1983 before he rose through the ranks and was appointed deputy director in 2004. He was nominated by President Barack Obama to be director of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), a role he took over in Summer 2010. As head of the TSA, Pistole led a 60,000-strong workforce, and oversaw the security operations of more than 450 airports throughout the United States.
