IU McKinney 1L Nasha Baughman (second from left) took part in the Joint Service Color Guard as part of the Military Department of Indiana Ceremonial Unit prior to the start of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on April 4 at Lucas Oil Stadium. She participated as an Operations Specialist, Second Class in the United States Coast Guard. Baughman is a member of the Coast Guard Reserve, and was invited to watch the competition in a suite at the stadium hosted by Kareem Abdul-Jabar (in the ball cap in the background).

"The ability to represent my country and pay tribute to my fellow Service members in this way gives me the utmost satisfaction," Baughman said. "It is important for us to recognize and celebrate all those that have served."

Baughman was offered a Reserve Intelligence Commission with the United States Navy in March 2015.
