04/22/2015
Linda Pence, ’74, a partner at the Indianapolis firm Pence Hensel, received the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy award.
Spirit of Philanthropy awards honor those who have had a profound impact on IUPUI’s growth and development through their gifts and voluntary service. (In the photo from left are IUPUI Chancellor Charles Bantz, Linda Pence, and IU McKinney Dean Andrew Klein.)
Pence is a litigator who is well known in the legal community and who has received many accolades throughout her career as a trial attorney. She established a scholarship in her late father’s name, the Woodrow W. Pence Scholarship, which has helped countless IU McKinney students as they complete their legal educations. She also is a member of the Board of Visitors, and served as co-chair during the Impact fundraising campaign. She was named the Outstanding Alumna of the Year in 2013 by IU McKinney’s Alumnae Network.
The annual Spirit of Philanthropy ceremony and luncheon took place April 14, 2015, at the IUPUI Campus Center. The event is sponsored by IUPUI, Indiana University Foundation and the IU School of Philanthropy at IUPUI.
