“He received the award in appreciation for his leadership and integrity as chair of the promotion and tenure committee, and as a long-serving member of the executive committee,” said IU McKinney Vice Dean Antony Page, “for his dedicated service as a mentor to junior faculty, and for his tireless devotion to the law school and its students.”

Professor Pitts is often sought out by national media for his expertise in voting rights and election administration. He is a Dean’s Fellow and a recipient of a Trustee’s Teaching Award in 2010.
