IU McKinney to Host Event on Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Professor Robert Katz, an expert on First Amendment law, law and religion, and nonprofit organizations law, will be the moderator at an event titled “Can We Talk about the Religious Freedom Restoration Act without Talking Past One Another?” The event, which carries with it 1.5 hours of CLE, is slated for June 24 in the Wynne Courtroom at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
The event is part of a the series “Talking about Freedoms without Freaking Out,” which is a discussion series sponsored by Sprit & Place with support from the IUPUI Office of Community Engagement, Indiana Humanities, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation, the Center for Civil Literacy, and IU McKinney.
Panelists include:
- Jane Henegar, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana and a former Deputy Mayor of Indianapolis
- Professor John Hill of IU McKinney
- Peter Rusthover, a partner at Barnes & Thornburg who served as White House Associate Counsel to the President during the Regan Administration
The event is free and open to the public, and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Wynne Courtroom at Inlow Hall. Registration is open at the IU McKinney website.
