IUPUI Staff Council Mini Conference Held at Law School
06/12/2015
The IUPUI Staff Council held its Staff Development Mini Conference at IU McKinney on June 2. Staff members from throughout the university were invited to attend, and nearly 200 registered and took part in the event.
The event was hosted by the law school, and McKinney staff took part in its organization and presented as well. Admissions Information Coordinator Lindsey Mosier was on the planning committee, and Office of Professional Development Associate Director Sean Southern presented a talk titled “Myers Briggs—Your Personality and Your Work.”
“These kinds of opportunities are essential to staff,” Mosier said, “because the opportunity to attend a staff-focused event on the IUPUI campus reinforces the value that IUPUI, indeed IU, places on professional and personal growth while also illustrating the university’s commitment to the value placed on maintaining staff talent and striving to be an employer of choice.”
In addition to Mosier, the Staff Council members who organized the event included Davis-Wallace, Rita Flynn, Scott Orr, and Caitie Stewart.
Other talks presented included:
- Kerri Dabbs, Director of Organizational Development and Training at IUIPU, presented “Campus Training to Promote Your Professional Growth”
- Venus Davis-Wallace, Residency Program Coordinator at the IU School of Medicine Department of OBGYN, presented “Small Player in a Big Game”
- Caroline Dowd-Higgins, Director of Career and Professional Development for the IU Alumni Association, presented “Thrive Where You Are”
"It was wonderful to welcome so many staff members from across campus to Inlow Hall," said IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein. "I am pleased at the leadership and expertise demonstrated by the McKinney staff who organized and presented at the event."
