06/12/2015
IU McKinney students Heather Kinser and Marcus Alan McGhee, fellows for the Program on Law and State Government (PLSG), traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the 2015 annual Conference for the Coalition of Juvenile Justice June 10 – 12.
Kinser and McGhee attended workshops focused on dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline through a continuum of services, eliminating the consequences of a juvenile record, extreme sentencing for juvenile delinquents, and appreciating ethnic and racial disparities in juvenile courts.
The fellows will host the PLSG symposium on Friday, September 25 at Inlow Hall. The event is titled Rupturing the School-to-Prison Pipeline: A State Government Efforts Toward Expungement Reform.
