IU McKinney Professors at American Law Institute Annual Meeting

Several faculty members at IU McKinney, as well as many alumni, are members of the American Law Institute. The most recent edition of the organization’s newsletter, The ALI Reporter, includes a photo of three professors on the McKinney faculty who belong to ALI. The photo was taken at the ALI annual meeting and dinner in Washington, D.C., in May.

ALI members at the dinner heard a panel discussion featuring former senators George J. Mitchell and Olympia J. Snowe, which was moderated by ALI president Roberta Cooper Ramo.
The American Law Institute is an independent organization that produces scholarly work to clarify, modernize, and otherwise improve the law. ALI is made up of 4000 lawyers, judges, and law professors who draft, discuss, revise, and publish Restatements of the Law, model statutes, and principles of law that are influential in the courts and legislatures, as well as in legal scholarship and education. ALI has long been influential internationally and, in recent years, more of its work has become international in scope.
IU McKinney faculty who are members of ALI include Professor Gerald L. Bepko; Professor Jeffrey O. Cooper; Professor George E. Edwards; Professor Nicholas L. Georgakopoulos; Professor Gerard Magliocca; Professor Michael Pitts; Professor David Orentlicher; Professor Gary Roberts; Professor Florence Wagman Roisman; Visiting Professor Randall T. Shepard; and Professor James P. White. ALI members who are professors emeriti of the law school include Professor Thomas B. Allington, Professor Jeffrey W. Grove, Professor W. William Hodes, and Professor Eleanor DeArman Kinney.
