Professor Edwards Offers Presentations on U.S. Legal Education in South Africa, Swaziland, and Mozambique

Professor George Edwards, IU McKinney J.D. student Joane Theodule, and Ntsika Fakudze, LL.M. ’11, made presentations about legal education in the United States at two United States Embassies and one U.S. Consulate in South Africa, the Kingdom of Swaziland, Mozambique, and Senegal in late July.
Professor Edwards presented “U.S. Law School Education for West and Southern African Students” at the U.S. Embassy in Dakar, Senegal on July 24, and hand-delivered the presentation to the U.S. Embassy in Mbabane, Kingdom of Swaziland, on July 29.
The topic “U.S. Master of Laws (LL.M.) & Other Law Programs: What South African Students Want To Know About U.S. Law Study” was presented by Professor Edwards and Theodule at the U.S. Consulate, in Cape Town, South Africa on July 27.
“University & Law School Study in the U.S. for Students from the Kingdom of Swaziland,” was Professor Edwards’ topic for the Annual Careers Fair at the Royal Swazi Convention Centre in Mbabane, Kingdom of Swaziland on July 29.
Together with Fakudze, Professor Edwards presented “Do You Want to Study Law in the U.S.A.?: A Student from Mozambique’s Guide to U.S. Master of Laws (LL.M.) & Other Law Degree Programs” at the U.S. Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique on July 30.
Professor Edwards is the Special Assistant to the Dean for Inter-Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations and the Carl M. Gray Professor of Law. He is also Faculty Director (Founding), of the Program for International Human Rights Law and Faculty Director (Founding), Guantanamo Bay, Cuba U.S. Military Commission Observation Project (MCOP) and The Gitmo Observer. He is the author of LL.M. Roadmap: An International Student’s Guide to U.S. Law School Programs www.LLMRoadMap.com, and of the forthcoming LL.M. Roadmap Career Guide: An International Student’s Job Hunt After Their U.S. Law Degree.
