Mohamed Arafa, S.J.D. '13, Presents to ABA Education Committee, Will Teach in Brazil in Spring 2016

Mohamed Arafa, S.J.D. ’13, presented a talk as a member of the American Bar Association’s Education Committee in late August, titled “Arab World’s Verdict on Legal Education: The Egyptian Case between Status Quo, Assessment, and Some Hope.” The lecture was part of the annual “Scientific And Research Conference on Advancement in Education, Science, and Technology at the Center of Excellence for Scientific and Research Journalism” in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates, on August 26 and 27. This paper will appear as a report and will be published by the Chicago Council On International Law And Politics.
Arafa will spend Spring 2016 as a visiting professor at the Univates University Faculty Of Law in Brazil. He will teach two courses for graduate and undergraduate Brazilian and internaitonl students on human rights and Islamic law, and legal cultures in the Arab World. In addition, he will pursue research on legal systems in Brazil.
