09/15/2015
Professor Fran Quigley, ’87, will present a lecture in commemoration of Constitution Day at Anderson University.
Titled “Is there a Constitutional Right to the Basic Necessities of Life,” the lecture will begin at 4 p.m. September 17 in Reardon Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The lecture is also the first public event celebrating the partnership between Anderson University and IU McKinney. The schools entered into an agreement and created the Anderson University Law Scholar program. The agreement was announced in May.
Professor Quigley is a clinical professor of law, teaching in the Health and Human Rights Clinic. Clinic students advocate for rights on behalf of the poor, and have a special focus on representing low-wage workers. His latest book, If We can Win Here: The New Front Lines in the Labor Movement, was published in April by Cornell University Press, and examines the union movement among service-sector workers nationwide. He presented a Faculty Book Talk about the work on September 1.
