Dean Klein Receives Presidential Citation at Indiana State Bar Association Meeting
10/07/2015
Dean Andrew R. Klein received a Presidential Citation during the Indiana State Bar Association’s annual meeting on October 7 in French Lick, Indiana.
Dean Klein served as vice chair of the ISBA’s Legal Education Conclave, held in June at Inlow Hall. According to the State Bar, Dean Klein was honored for his work, along with conclave chair Ted Waggoner, for “the Herculean task of planning curriculum and recruiting faculty, work that often went home with them on weeknights and on weekends, more so than most other ISBA volunteer responsibilities.” The ISBA states “this task requires visionary perceptiveness of which national and international trends to feature and which thought leaders to recruit across a multitude of judicial, legal education and legal service environments - and these two did an exceptional job at both. The report coming from this Conclave will likely help direct future initiatives of the Association.”
Dean Klein is the Paul E. Beam Professor of Law. He served as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Chancellor and as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at IUPUI prior to becoming dean in 2013. He teaches torts, environmental and toxic torts, hazardous waste regulation, and federal jurisdiction.
