Professor Ryznar Writes about Marriage Tax Penalty Solution for 'Huffington Post'
10/14/2015
Professor Margaret Ryznar proposes a fix for the marriage tax penalty in a blog post she wrote for the Huffington Post. The piece was published October 14.
Professor Ryznar proposes creating a fifth tax filing status for two-income married couples whose tax brackets are double those of single filers, and details how such a status would work, and how to prevent a marriage bonus or penalty for couples who do not have two incomes.
Professor Ryznar is an associate professor of law, Dean’s Fellow, and Grimes Fellow. She teaches family law; international and comparative family law; juvenile law; income taxation of individuals, fiduciaries and business associations; and trusts and estates. In addition to contributing to the Huffington Post, she edits the Family Law Prof Blog.
