Health Law Society Donates Funds to IU Student Outreach Clinic
11/11/2015
IU McKinney’s Health Law Society donated $650 to the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic. Members of the student organization made the donation to the clinic on November 7.
The donation was made from the proceeds from the Health Law Society’s (HLS) Professional School Mixers, which it hosts every semester. The group hosts the mixers as part of its mission to foster interdisciplinary relationships between students in the legal and health-related fields. The work of the IU Student Outreach Clinic (SOC) is interdisciplinary in nature, making the donation of the proceeds from these social events a particularly good fit.
The clinic operates out of Neighborhood Fellowship Church on the Indianapolis near eastside. Entirely run by students, the clinic is a partnership of the IU School of Medicine; IU McKinney Law; IU School of Dentistry; IU School of Social Work; IU School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Department of Physical Therapy and Department of Occupational Therapy; IU School of Nursing; University of Indianapolis Krannert School of Physical Therapy; and the Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
