IU McKinney Black Law Students Association Hosts Party for Former Inmates and Families

The Black Law Students Association hosted a holiday party for former inmates and their families. The New Beginnings holiday party, held on November 15, was the subject of a television news story on WISH. Student volunteers set up the party, wrapped presents, served food, and helped children with arts and crafts during the event. The group’s community service chair, 2L Mariah McGhee, said “Reentry is huge, especially in the African-American community, and as a black law student association, it’s very important for us to take an active role in the movement.”
