01/11/2016
Andrew Heath, ’06, has been named state budget director by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory. While attending IU McKinney, Heath served as a legal intern in Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ Office of General Counsel.
Governor McCrory made the announcement on January 7. The governor begins speaking about Heath at 5:12 in the video.
Heath had been serving as chair of the state’s Industrial Commission, a post the governor had appointed him to in 2013. In this role, he implemented the governor’s directive to form the Employee Classification Section to combat employee misclassification abuse. He also oversaw an employer compliance program that was set up to ensure that North Carolina workers are insured for on-the-job injuries.
