NYT Publishes Letter from Professor Georgakopoulos on Risks of Deregulating Big Banks
02/17/2016
Professor Nicholas Georgakopoulos has written a letter published by the New York Times that points out the risks of breaking up the big banks. The letter was published February 16.
Big banks are more heavily regulated than are small banks, and in Fall 2008, federal government officials were able to gather all of the heads of the big banks in one room and work toward a plan to combat the financial crisis, Georgakopoulos writes.
Professor Georgakopoulos is the Harold R. Woodard Professor of Law and a noted expert on securities law.
