IU McKinney Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Affairs Johnny Pryor received the “Minority Achievement Award” from the Center for Leadership Development. He received the honor in the area of postsecondary education at the group’s awards gala on March 24.
“I’m so pleased to be honored by this organization,” said Dean Pryor.
The Center, led by President Dennis Bland, ’92, is devoted to fostering the advancement of minority youth in the Central Indiana area and develop future professional, business, and community leaders. Its annual Awards and Scholarship Gala is a major event in Indianapolis.
Honorees are selected from nominations in various categories, and winners are introduced by leaders in each area. Anderson University President John Pistole, ’81, said “That’s my alma mater!” as he introduced Dean Pryor at the event.
“Dean Pryor has spearheaded multiple initiatives at IU McKinney to help our students grow, learn and become leaders in the community as well as the legal profession,” said IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein. “His work to establish a Wellness Program, student organization awards, and diversity programs has improved the lives of all of our students. We are extremely proud of him and proud that he was selected for this award from the CLD.”
