Dean Klein Appointed to Work with Two Groups Aimed at Improving System of Justice
05/23/2016
Dean Andrew R. Klein has been appointed to the board of directors of the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society. He joins the board of the largest organization in Indiana devoted to the provision of civil legal help to people with limited means. The group has been serving this client base for over 70 years, and its nine attorneys serve more than 150 clients each week.
Dean Klein also was appointed in February to the Indiana Supreme Court’s Commission on Race and Gender Fairness. This group is tasked with studying the status of race and gender fairness in the state’s justice system and investigating ways in which it can be improved in the courts, legal system, state and local government, and among service providers and public organizations.
Dean Klein is the Paul E. Beam Professor of Law. He served as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Chancellor and as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at IUPUI prior to becoming dean in 2013. He teaches torts, environmental and toxic torts, hazardous waste regulation, and federal jurisdiction.
