Professor Sullivan to Speak Again on Justice Louis D. Brandeis
05/31/2016
On June 22, Professor of Practice Frank Sullivan, Jr. will deliver his popular lecture on United States Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis. The lecture, which he has delivered twice at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, will be given as a CLE program for the Jewish Lawyer’s Luncheon Group and will also be the featured lecture for his class on that same day from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm in the Wynne Courtroom (Room 100) at Inlow Hall (530 West New York Street, Indianapolis, Indiana). The public is welcome to attend the event at the law school, however no CLE credit is offered for this lecture.
June 1, 2016 is the 100th anniversary of Justice Brandeis’ confirmation by the United States Senate.
Professor Sullivan, himself a former justice on the Indiana Supreme Court, will offer his insights on Justice Brandeis’ career as a lawyer and as a justice. Justice Brandeis was one of the leading lawyers and appellate advocates of his day when he was appointed to the United States Supreme Court in 1916. His legacy on free speech, privacy, judicial restraint, and federalism is important to this day.
