IU McKinney Announces Semester in Global Residence Program, Beginning in Fall 2017
06/16/2016
A new Semester in Global Residence option will be part of the highly-ranked Master of Laws program at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, beginning in Fall 2017.
Students taking part in the American Law for Foreign Lawyers track, as well as the Corporate and Commercial Law track, will be able to complete some of the coursework online. Under the program, students may take up to 11 credit hours in residence in a home country or elsewhere. This option may be better suited to working legal professionals who may have difficulty living in the U.S. for 9 months.
Here’s how the program will work:
- Students will travel to IU McKinney for a two-week, intensive Legal Skills Seminar in August 2017.
- Students will then take face-to-face coursework at IU McKinney’s Inlow Hall during the Fall 2017 semester, where they will take pre-requisite courses, establish connections with faculty as well as with other students and legal professionals in the metropolitan Indianapolis legal community.
- Students will then travel home, or wherever their career path takes them, to complete the degree during the Spring 2018 semester through IU McKinney’s online program.
IU McKinney’s LL.M. program has been ranked among “The Best LLM Programs” in the categories of “Law School Experience,” “Career Opportunities,” and “Top Value” by the magazine, The International Jurist.
