Judge Mary Willis, '91, Named Inaugural Chief Administrative Officer of Indiana Supreme Court
06/21/2016
Henry Circuit Judge Mary Willis, ’91, has been named the inaugural chief administrative officer of the Indiana Supreme Court. Judge Willis will begin her duties in July.
The new position is part of the Indiana Supreme Court’s internal restructuring process, which established the Office of Judicial Administration. The goal of the restructuring is to improve communication, streamline staff responsibilities, document institutional knowledge and plan for personnel succession.
Lilia Judson, ’75, executive director of the Division of State Court Administration, is filling the role on an interim basis. Judson will retire in September after assisting with the transition of Judge Willis into her new duties.
Judge Willis was elected to the bench in Henry County in 2003. She currently serves as president of the Indiana Judges Association, on the Indiana Supreme Court’s Strategic Planning Committee, and the Indiana Judicial Conference board of directors.
