Emily Benfer, '05, Interviewed by CBS News for Story on Hazardous Lead Levels in Public Housing

Emily Benfer, ’05, took part in an interview with CBS News that was broadcast June 21 on hazardous levels of lead in public housing.
Benfer is a clinical professor of law and director of the Health Justice Project at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She is acting as the attorney for Tolanda McMullen. McMullen’s son was exposed to lead and has been suffering the consequences of it throughout his young life. The family moved out of public housing and into a homeless shelter in an effort to get away from high lead levels.
