MaryEllen Bishop, '82, Re-Elected to Third Term as IU Trustee

MaryEllen Bishop, ’82, has been elected to a third, three-year term on the Indiana University Board of Trustees. A partner with the Indianapolis firm Cohen Garelick & Glazer, the Carmel, Indiana, resident was first elected as an IU Trustee in 2010. Bishop is also a graduate of the IU Kelley School of Business.
Bishop was the first woman to serve as the interim chair of the IU Board of Trustees, a post she held in Summer 2014.
“I am so pleased that MaryEllen Bishop will continue in her role as Trustee for a third term,” said IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein. “She is incredibly dedicated to Indiana University, and we are proud of the example she sets for the entire McKinney Law family.”
Bishop has been active in IU organizations for many years, including serving on the IU McKinney Board of Visitors, the IU Women’s Philanthropy Council, the IU Athletics Committee, chairwoman of the IU Alumni Association, Trustee representative of the Board of Visitors for the IU School of Philanthropy, steering committee for the Colloquium for Women of IU, co-chair for the Planned Giving Committee for the IU School of Medicine, the 2012 General Council Search Committee, and the 2008 Athletic Director Search Committee. On the Board of Trustees, she has chaired the external relations committee and served on the facilities and academic affairs committees.
