Students from the Chinese Law Summer Program (CLSP) visited the Great Wall on June 4. At the Great Wall, proudly displaying an IU McKinney banner, are from left J.D. student Jason Abel, and M.J. student Eddie Rivers.
The program commemorated its 30th year in 2016, and 30 students from five affiliated law schools took part. This marked the first year that students from the University of Bergen Faculty of Law in Norway participated in the CLSP. A total of 14 IU McKinney students took part in the program, accompanied by two students from the University of Minnesota Law School, two students from Boston College Law School, one student from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and one student from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Participants study Chinese domestic law, take law-related field trips to destinations including the People’s Supreme Court and the National People’s Congress, and embark on cultural field trips to sites such as the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, and Forbidden City. The program is hosted at Renmin University of China Law School, which is ranked as the number one law school in China.
