In-House Lawyers as Adjunct Professors Benefit Students
07/27/2016
Former IU McKinney Adjunct Professor Scott Bearby, general counsel at the NCAA, talked with the website Law.Com for a story on the benefits of in-house lawyers teaching law classes. The story was posted July 26. (Log-in required.)
Bearby, who taught a sports law course at IU McKinney from 2008 until 2015, when he had to stop because of a schedule conflict, says his teaching actually made him a better practitioner.
“Teaching really forces you to look more closely at judicial opinions,” he said in the story. “The discussion with my students was really very helpful in terms of getting a fresh perspective.”
