Professor Watson, Wrongful Conviction Clinic, Subject of Indiana Public Media Story

The work of Professor Fran Watson and the Wrongful Conviction Clinic at IU McKinney on behalf of client Darryl Pinkins was the subject of a news story broadcast by Indiana Public Media on August 29.
Pinkins was freed from prison on April 25. He was convicted in Lake County, Indiana, in 1991 and served 25 years in prison for crimes he did not commit. The law school’s Wrongful Conviction Clinic and Professor Watson have been involved in representing Pinkins and co-defendant Roosevelt Glenn since receiving the case on a referral from the Innocence Project in 1999.
Professor Watson, ’80, is a clinical professor of law and teaches in the Criminal Defense Clinic and the Wrongful Conviction Clinic.
