IU McKinney Summer Law and Leadership Academy Highlighted in IUPUI Magazine

The Summer Law and Leadership Academy at IU McKinney was the subject of a story in the Fall 2016 issue of the magazine Embrace Diversity at IUPUI.
In its second year, the program is under the direction of Assistant Dean for the Office of Professional Development Chasity Thompson, ’02; and Professor Shawn Boyne. Students are introduced to the kinds of courses they will take during law school, have the opportunity to meet with attorneys working in a variety of areas in the legal and business communities, take part in law-related field trips, and take part in a mock trial. The experience is designed to introduce undergraduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds to law school and the career opportunities available with a law degree.
