IU McKinney Team to Repeat Performance in Indianapolis Monumental November 5
10/19/2016
A team comprised of more than 30 members of the IU McKinney family will participate in various parts of the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on November 5.
Vice Dean Antony Page and a team of 28 IU McKinney students will take part in the 5k race, while Professor Frank Sullivan, Jr., will run the half marathon. Many other members of the IU McKinney family will take part in the event; some had signed up for the race before the 2016 team was formed. The first IU McKinney team to take part in the event was organized in 2015.
“McKinney has a lot of runners and last year’s event was really popular so the SBA was excited to make another team for the race,” said IU McKinney 2L and Student Bar Association president Robert Weyreter.
The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is the state’s largest marathon, and features half marathon and 5K components. Now in its ninth year, the race also is a fundraiser for public education, and has contributed over $825,000 to such support so far.
