IU McKinney Repeats Performance in the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon
11/08/2016
Vice Dean Antony Page and a team of 18 IU McKinney students ran the 5k race that’s part of the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, which took place on November 5. Professor Frank Sullivan, Jr., ran the half marathon. The first IU McKinney team to take part in the event was organized in 2015.
“We had a strong turnout of students for the McKinney team who race in the 5K, half marathon and full marathon and I think everyone had a great time,” said IU McKinney 2L and Student Bar Association president Robert Weyreter. He organized the 2016 team and took part in the marathon, along with fellow student Brenden Macy.
In addition, Vice Dean Page came in second in his age group for the 5k.
The Indianapolis Monumental Marathon is the state’s largest marathon, and features half marathon and 5K components. Now in its ninth year, the race also is a fundraiser for public education, and has contributed over $825,000 to such support so far.
