Linda Ford, '95, Named Chief Counsel of APTA

Linda Ford, ’95, has been named chief counsel of the American Public Transportation Association. She takes on the role effective January 9, 2017.
Ford has worked at the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) for 16 years. Ford began her career as a senior attorney-advisor in the General Counsel’s Office. From there, she became assistant chief counsel in the Chief Counsel’s Office for the Federal Transit Authority (FTA). She currently serves as associate administrator for the FTA’s Office of Civil Rights.
“This is an exciting opportunity to join APTA,” Ford said. “I am looking forward to continuing my work with the public transit industry in this new capacity.”
Before joining the USDOT, Ford held legal and law judge positions in Indiana. She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of general science degree.
